Every now and then a certain song gets stuck in my head for days and days on end. This time it’s this mayor feel good liquid drum & bass track from Makoto: Spread Love!

It finally happened! Nanja’s first single on Spotify!
After writing, singing, playing the piano, recording and editing the track by herself, and with a little help from her dad with the mastering part, it is finally finished.
We had to sign up with BUMA and Distrokid. We had to do a lot of new and adventurous stuff just to find out how on earth do you get your track to Spotify? But as proud as a dad can be, she did it! With a bunch of her friends she had a release party at the 19th of November. Which also featured the videoclip, but that will be a new post!

The good old days of MSX with it’s nice and clear soundchip. Chiptunes to the max!

Has been a long time since I upgraded my OpenBSD boxes. But there we are! Running 7.6 smoothly!

I have always been a sucker for screen real estate but this fucking blows it! It started of as a joke with the guys from the hardware department at the office, but it soon turned out that if I really wanted it, I could have it. It did mean I had to get used to ‘curved’ and part from my dual LG 34UM95 setup. But I just couldn’t resist!
The most monstrous monitor one could buy at the moment. 57″ wide, a woooooping resolutaion of 7680×2160. It’s like two 4K UHD screens glued together and it is awesome!

Up! up! up!
Did have one strange issue tho I had to reboot a bit more than usual to have nginx find php-fpm.sock again. But it’s working! =]
I just updated a Ubuntu 20.04 LTS box to 22.04 LTS and found out my nginx server would not come up. The reason? It was not able to resolve it’s upstream servers by name. Known issue. So I started to google it. But DAMN! WTF! The internet is like a f*cking echo chamber for so-called techies writing blog posts all over the place and asking for coffees in return. It is really sad. Even the typo’s are just copy-pasted!
I wanted a solution that is NOT editing a file which states very clearly at the top:
# This is /run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf managed by man:systemd-resolved(8).
# Do not edit.
It took me quite some searching but I finally found it, the magic happens in /etc/systemd/resolved
DNS=8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4
Domains=remyblom.nl
(I used the google DNS in the example above, but I’d recomment using your local internet provider’s DNS at all time. Better for both performance and your privacy)

Wow, a little late discovering this gem, but anayways, great album with a lovely 90’s sound to it, while still being very fresh and new!
